 Sukosol Trading Management

Since starting out with the importation of G.E. products from America in 1939 KEC has come a long way and today is a thriving and diverse trading company.

KEC traces its roots back to 1939 when its president, Mr Kamol Sukosol, started the trading business with a shipment of twelve G.E. radio sets from the United States. Before too long the company grew to have 22 showrooms in Bangkok and its surrounding provinces. And less than a decade on, the company become G.E’s sole distributor in Thailand. With each passing year, new product lines were added and KEC’s scope of activities spread from household appliances to electrical and engineering equipment, air conditioning, motor vehicles, manufacturing and so forth.

In the mid-1950s the group began importing foreign cars for local consumption, the jewel in the crown being the sole distribution rights for Mazda vehicles from Japan. Indeed, the car sector became so profitable that in 1974 the Sukosol Group and Mazda Motor Industry set up a joint venture manufacturing cars and pick-up trucks at an assembly plant in Bangchan.

Over the ensuing years as the company continued to thrive, expand and diversify (e.g., Samsung electronics and Kia vehicles from South Korea), management recognised the need to form independent business units in order to maintain focus on its varying customer groups and adapt to the unique dynamics within each industry.

As a result, the Kamol Sukosol Electric Co., Ltd. was formally established in 1973.

Today KEC's portfolio of products and trading partners has grown significantly. Our trading partners now include leading manufacturers from the US, Canada, Japan, UK, Germany, Italy, China and Spain.

To maximise operational efficiency KEC is organised along four main product lines: audio broadcast, kitchen, dehumidifier and healthcare. With the company’s main focuses being on specialty markets where direct sales efforts are required and after-sales service and customer support are key considerations in purchasing.
